Homemade Pepperoni Pizza
Good Housekeeping Quick Pizza Dough:
2 c. AP flour
1 pkg quick rise yeast
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. very warm water (120-130 degrees)
cornmeal for sprinkling
1. Combine flour, yeast and salt. Stir in warm water until blended. Turn onto floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
2. Shape dough into a ball (2 if doubling recipe) and let rest on a baking pan for 10 minutes, covered with greased saran wrap.
3. Sprinkle a cookie sheet with cornmeal. Lay out your dough. (The olive oil is my own addition) Drizzle a small amount of olive oil all over the dough. Spread on sauce (recipe follows) and toppings. Bake at 415f for approx. 16 minutes.
I made a pizza sauce from whatever I had on hand which consisted of:
Pantry Pizza Sauce
1 can tomato paste
Juice from 1 can chopped tomatoes (to thin it out)
*Makes enough for two pizzas, as I had doubled the dough recipe.
